紀平佳丈 木工展

愛知県豊田市で木の器を制作される紀平佳丈さんの展覧会を開催いたします。
紀平さんの作品は轆轤などの機械を使わずに、全て手作業で木目に合わせて刳り、削り、磨きをかけて作り出されます。
そうして作り出された作品は、轆轤成形のものとは異なるわずかな揺らぎを纏い、美しくなめらかな曲線は心地よく手に馴染みます。
ひとつとして同じものはない木目や色、質感を感じながら1点ずつ丁寧に作り出される作品からは柔らかさやぬくもりが感じられ、日々の生活にやさしく寄り添ってくれます。
今回の展覧会ではお盆や鉢など日常使いの器をはじめ、一点物の作品も出展していただきます。

We are pleased to announce the exhibition of Mr. Yoshitake Kihira, who produces wood works in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture. His works are made by hand, without the use of a potter’s wheel or other machinery, and are hollowed, shaved, and polished to match the grain of the wood. The beautifully smooth curves of his pieces are comfortable to hold in the hand. Each piece is carefully crafted one by one, with the grain, color, and texture of each piece unique, giving it a sense of softness and warmth, and making it a gentle companion to daily life. In this exhibition, we will be displaying one-of-a-kind pieces as well as trays, bowls, and other daily-use vessels.

2006　愛知県立芸術大学　彫刻科卒業
　　 　家具工房で6年間勤務し、木工の家具や小物等の制作を行う
