KASING LUNG SOLO EXHIBITION「CLOUD」

2023年4月10日より、Hidari ZIngaroではKasing Lungによる個展「CLOUD」を開催いたします。

子供向けの絵本のイラストレーターとして活動をスタートし、その後コレクタブルフィギュアの発売で大人気を博したKasing Lung。ドローイングやペインティングも手がけており、特に近年はアートフェアや展覧会の場での作品の発表が増えてきています。

昨年にはKaikai Kiki Galleryで初の大型個展を開催し、高さ約3mにもなるペインティング大作も発表しました。Hidari Zingaroを会場とする今回の展示は、作家が長年描きためてきたドローイングを発表する機会として企画されました。ペインティングを描く前に、習作としてマーカーでドローイングを制作するというLungは、年に100点ほどのドローイングを描いており、本展ではその一部をご覧いただけます。さらに、今回のために制作したペインティング、そして初公開となる作家のドローイングがあしらわれたエディションスツールも展示予定。ご高覧ください。

Hidari Zingaro is pleased to present CLOUD, a solo exhibition by Kasing Lung, starting on Monday, April 10,2023.

Kasing Lung, who started out as an illustrator for children’s picture books and subsequently gained tremendous popularity with the release of his collectible figures, also creates drawings and paintings.
Especially in recent years, he has increasingly been showing his works at art fairs and in exhibitions.
Last year, Lung had his first major solo exhibition at Kaikai Kiki Gallery, where he presented large paintings measuring approximately three meters high.
This exhibition at Hidari Zingaro was planned as an opportunity for the artist to present the drawings he has been producing over many years. Lung makes marker drawings as a study before producing his paintings,and makes about 100 drawings a year, some of which will be presented in this exhibition. The exhibition will also include a painting made especially for this occasion, as well as an edition of stools with the artist’sdrawings on it, which will be on display for the first time. Kasing Lu

1972年、香港に生まれる。

イラストレーターとして2011年より香港のHow2Work社とのコラボレーションを開始、絵本やコレクタブル・フィギュアのシリーズをリリースする。2013年、中国語で書かれた初の絵本『My Little Planet』を台湾で出版。2014年には児童文学作家のブリジット・ミンネとの共作による絵本、『Lizzy Wil Danssen（リジーはダンスがしたい）』をベルギーの出版社De Eenhoornより刊行して評判となり、ヨーロッパやアジアの各国で翻訳出版された。2015年、北欧神話に強い影響を受けた物語シリーズ『the Monsters』の制作に着手。同名のフィギュアのシリーズをHow2Workよりリリースし、なかでもウサギ耳のキャラクター「Labubu（ラブブ）」は絶大な人気を博し、これまでに300を超える色と形、サイズでリリースされている。

近年は香港とベルギーを活動の拠点としてペインティング作品の制作に注力し、2020年、初のアート作品の個展となる「THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE」を東京のHidari Zingaroで開催した。
