To the north are the living room, dining room and bedrooms, while a Japanese-style building stands a little removed to the south. The Japanese rooms feature translucent glass on the wall of the tokowaki, a nook next to the alcove, inviting in outside light that creates a magical space. The interior expresses a Japanese aesthetic while incorporating the industrial element of glass. 栃木県設計＝木原千利設計工房施工＝中村建設写真＝小川重雄菊水の家中庭を中心に各室を配置したコートハウス。北側には居間・食堂および各寝室、南側には離れともいうべき和室棟が建つ。和室は床脇の壁を不透明ガラスにし、外の光を取り入れて幻想的な空間に。ガラスという工業製品を取り入れながら和の空間を表現している。42
